Day Off - [no weather report] My mom's birthday. She did like those earings I bought her in San Francisco. We're up later and go to the studio at 2 to begin recording over-dubs etc. Dan and I program a drum machine and Dave writes a bass line and Rod's "Dance Hit" is born - very funny. Day Off - [no weather report] Up and about. We rehearse in the afternoon and go over all the songs. Eat -then in the evening Brian and we go over particular songs and everything looks good for us to start recording tomorrow. We talk much afterwards. Day Off - Hot/Humid Up at 11AM - late - we had told Lane Wurster we would be there in North Carolina at 7 or so. Now not until 10-11PM. Pack up, clean up, leave. Lane is the older brother of "That Johnny Wurster kid". We was going to school in North Carolina. Lane went on to work at Mammoth Records. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Up late again - 12:30. No breakfast. Decide to clean out and in van. First we replace fuel filter and clean out the system. Then we dump all our junk on the front lawn. Dave R. and I drive to nearby car wash. Vac out the inside and wash the outside. Back to house, we clean out junk and reload van up. Dinner is ready - beef and noodles - good stuff. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Up 12:30. Made myself eggs. Drank lots of water - tea. Watched TV all day long. We were all just into lazing around. TV-TV-TV. Read some mail and stuff Jackie has sent. DP record review etc. The day passed. Had Bar-BQ chicken, rice and beans for dinner about 8:30-9PM. TV-TV-TV. To bed about 1 or so. The 'DP' is the Daily Pennsylvanian newspaper on the University of Penn campus.... more »»

Day Off - Sunny/Hot/Humid Sat around. 'Glass Eye' made calls and tried to nail down club where show will be. Hopefully at South Bank - a new club - not sure it will be open. Maybe the Beach Club. Day Off - Sunny/Warm Up late at 1PM. Coffee Tylenol, bagels and eggs. Feeling a bit better after a shower. I do laundry. Dave R. and I stay home - the rest go into town for money. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Woke at 7AM. We all shower and pack van - everybody else still asleep. Thanked waking people at 9AM as we left for Albuquerque. Stopped at Waffle House for breakfast. Dave called Jenny Dawson in Santa Fe - no show in Albuquerque - come to Santa Fe - show there tonight. Waffle House quickly ended up on our "DO NOT EAT HERE" list. Dave R. drives on route 10 East. Day Off - Sunny/HOT Drove through the night. Into Arizona at sun up - I took over driving. I didn't get much sleep at all. Drove the rest of the way to town - 3 hours. Found Impulse club. Parked - walked to nearby Burger King 10:30AM - ate food and drank stuff - killed an hour - wandered back. Drove to a record store near the the University of Arizona. Day Off - [no weather report] Woke up about 10. Lawn mowers do not make good alarm clocks. Into house - everybody else was still asleep. Cleaned up and made coffee. Dave R. woke up. Day Off - Sunny/Warm Up at 10AM. Rested etc. Coffee. Sean is home from school. He has a doctors appointment. We hang out - watch Mission Impossible and Hogan's Hero's - fun huh? Leave 12:30 or so - get gas and food. Off to Enigma. Radio interview at 3:00 with KXLU in Los Angeles - cool. KXLU in Los Angeles has a slick (Flash) website. Day Off - Sunny/Warm Woke at 9:30. Dave R. was downstairs. We all woke up except Rod. We decided to leave. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Woke late. Coffee (sounds like a repeat of every other morning for the past week or weeks!). Lazed around. Day Off - [no weather report] Woke at 9AM. Made some calls. Steve Fritz wants us mid September for "Terminal" Benefit show with "Christmas". We made packages of records and press pack. Dave R. and I went to post office and Bob's Big Boy. Back to Terry's. Steve Fritz was a Philadelphia scenster who published a music zine called "Terminal". It was a newsprint tabloid sized affair. Day Off - Sunny/Hot/Clear Woke up at 10AM - well rested. Lazed around and drank coffee. Jackie called - told us Die Kreuzen showed up at The Offenders gig at Pi Lam - played great. Enigma wants 2000 more lyric sheets - 4000 total. They plan to sell 6000?!! Also we're number 10 out of 20 on the CMJ Adventure Pick List - COOL! Day Off - Overcast/Warm/Cool Wake at 8:30. Shower and pack up. Dave R. calls service center at 9:30 told us to call back at 10:30. We watch TV. Calls back - car will pick us up in 15 minutes. Lock up - picked up. Van fixed for $114 dollars. Put on my Visa - not bad. On our way by 11:30. This is the first time I mentioned a Visa card. We did use it on this tour... more »»

Day Off - Sunny/Hot Woke up at 8:30. Get our stuff together and out by 9:30. Stop and get coffee on our way. Up Route 35 and then Route 40 - to route to California - through Oklahoma, the top of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona (just below the Grand Canyon) and on to the West coast and Los Angeles. Dave R. Day Off - Sunny/Cool Woke up at 12 or so. Lazed around - TV. Joe went out and bought OJ, pecan twirls - granola bars - tuna fish etc. Ate food - more TV. Lazed around until 6:30. Day Off - Sunny/Cool/Breezy Slept until 11AM. Woke up and lazed around and watched cartoons. Got cleaned up and ate Cheerios. More TV. Went to bank machine $10 dollars. Came back. Day Off - Sunny/Cooler Up at 11AM or so - clean up - pack up. Walked to State Street. Got breakfast at a weird cafe - hippy type joint. Good croissants, iced tea, coffee, apple tarts, sandwiches. Leave Madison at 2 or so. Madison is very nice - probably the nicest place so far in terms of me possibly living there someday. College town, beach, clubs, good looking girls, nice people in general. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Slept late - 1:30PM - up slowly. We took Kathy to Bob Evan's for breakfast - then to Stuart's to pick up her car (we gave her a ride home from Indianapolis - Stuart had left early). Stopped in town to pick up cassette power adaptor.
