Show Day - Sunny/Warm Up at 12. Slowly get cleaned up and eat at "I-Hop". Call Dave R. - tells us we play tomorrow in Phoenix and then to Austin Texas. Show Day - Sunny/Cool Up at 10. Mojo rises. We pack and look at each other's morning ugly mugs. Mojo and crew leave at 12:30 for a gig in LA. We leave at 1 and lock the doors. Day Off - Sunny/Warm Thanksgiving - Up at 11 or so - "hangover city". We go to "Denny's" for breakfast. I call home and talk to my grandparents. Day Off - [no weather report] Up and out. We eat and make calls. Dave R. tells us we have a San Diego gig on Friday - all our plans have changed. We can go to 'Campers' or Hotel Hell for today but must drive to LA Tuesday (tomorrow). Wednesday is a meeting with Restless Records Thursday off [Thanksgiving]. Show Day - Sunny/Warm Woke at 11 or so and got showered. Joined the others on the roof/porch for breakfast. Pictures were taken and we were joined on the roof by "Tex" the kitten. Show Day - Sunny/60's Up at 10:30. We check out of the "Travel Lodge" at 12:30 and drive to "Dean Markley" (on the way we eat at "Denny's"). We pickup sticks and bass strings. Back to San Francisco to "Drum World" to buy heads and a wing nut and bolt. Then to Berkeley. Day Off - Sunny/Clear/50's Up early and out by 11:45. Drive to eat. I've got my appetite back but am still hanging out on the toilet. We drive down [Interstate] 80 to San Francisco. Pass through some great scenery - especially after crossing into California. Lots of scenic views and mountain vistas. We get through the agricultural check without a hitch. Show Day - Sunny Up - leave town and drive to Boise. Arrive at club - real sound system. Load in, set up and sound check. - OK sound. Eat, then back to the club. Day Off - Clear/Cool Up and out by 12. Eat next door at "Apple Tree". Good diced ham and eggs. Drive East to Butte, then South into Idaho. Yes - Idaho actually exists!. Show Day - Cold Up at 10. clean up then out to eat. Leave town by 12 and drive to Bozeman Montana. Slippery in spots - arrive about 6:30. Load in and sound check - good sound. Show Day - Cold/Cloudy/Snow I wake up off and on all morning but finally get up after Dan called and Joe and Rod had showers. The others show up and we go to eat at "Perkins" about 1PM. Day Off - Clear/Sunny/COLD! We get up and check out at 12. Eat and begin drive across South Dakota to Rapid City. Dan drives - roads are OK. Lee drives - roads get worse. We see signs for "Wall Drug" - sort of the "South of The Border" of the great plains states. He stops there. The roads are ice. You can stop on by Wall Drug online. (And here too). Day Off - Cold/Windy Up at 9 or so. We pack, I shower and we're out by 10. Drive to Fargo. Small dinky city. Eat at "Wendy's". We call Canada - still the fucking answering machine. Drive south to Sioux Falls. We stopped to call Canada again - no answer. No way we are going now. Get to Sioux Falls and check into "Days Inn". Eat, watch TV and to bed about 2AM. Show Day - Cold Up at 11 - shower - after 5 minutes the water overflowed. The dirty bathroom was wallpapered with Penthouse "snatch" shots. I wash, shave and brush my teeth in the kitchen sink - remarkably not filled with too many dirty dishes. We leave at 12 and drive for an hour. Eat at "Bob Evans" then to Madison Wisconsin. Show Day - Cold Up at 10:30 - out and eat. To K-Mart and hang out. Drive to Indianapolis and arrive at the "Vogue Theater" about 7PM. Cool place. We wait to get in with Bill "The Ghost" Levin - the wild man, at a bar called "Muggin's" He buys us a beer. Its his birthday. "The Ghost" has been mentioned before. Show Day - Sunny/Cool/Rain Up at 10:30 - get out and eat at "Denny's" next to the hotel. Drive to Detroit. We arrive early at "Paycheck's Lounge" in Hamtramck. We decide to eat and then load in.
