Show Day - Fair We're up an out at 12:45. Eat and drive to Oxford Ohio. Arrive at 5PM. We wander around town and go to a record store at 6 for an "in-store". We hang out and talk to people and pictures are taken. We then go to Mac and Jim's "club" and eat while the sound crew sets up. We get to check about 8PM - minimal miking. Day Off - Cold/Cloudy Up at 1:30. Wash up. Dan had delivered the van to a Ford dealer - should be done at 5. He and Joe went to do wash - the four of us get up and go downtown. Show Day - Cold/Cloudy Up at 9:30. Out and eat on our way North to Mt. Pleasant Michigan. Dan drives and we arrive sooner than we expect - about 4:15. We stop in the bar and hang out. "The Foolery" is an OK place. Wander around town a little. I buy postcards and Lego! - just for fun. Hang out and drink "Fosters Lager". Meet people at the club -cool folks. Show Day - Cloudy/Cooler Up and out. We drive and eat at a Shoney's. Bad food - I'm getting tired of this stuff. Wheel it on up to Muncie IN. I finish the 'Who' biography book. It was slightly disturbing read how people acted - not that I took the book too seriously. Dave Blood reads it next. We passed lots of books around the van. Show Day - Cloudy/Rainy Up last. Shower then we lay around. Leave at 11:45. Drive - eat in Memphis about 3 - I drive. Lee then takes over - I have a splitting headache. Show Day - Sunny/Cool Up at 10 or so - out and eat at "Wendy's". Drive to the "SOB" club for sound check at 1PM. Load in and set up. Rod and I do an interview for the Mt. Pleasant show [Michigan]. Sound check - good sound. All ages show started at 3. We went on at 3:30. Play a good show. Lots of kids - ON STAGE. Knew the words. Great - almost all the shirts sold.... more »»

Day Off - Rainy/Cool/Dreary Up at 11 - off day today - big plans. Check out. I was naughty and wrote SATAN in toothpaste on the mirror and stuffed the bed covers with the pillows to look like we were still in the room. Show Day - Sunny/Cool Up at 10:30 - I'm the last to clean up etc. Check out and eat at the "Daybreak" restaurant. Drive to Memphis, We stop in Tupelo Mississippi - the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Got our picture taken in front of the house he was born. Bought some post cards and a record flat. Very weird. The "Daybreak" was probably the crappy restaurant at the Days Inn. Show Day - Sunny/Cool Up at 9:30. We get cleaned up and eat - leave town by 12. Drive to Atlanta. Takes only 3-4 hours. We get to the "688" club at 5. We load in and set up. I wrote to Johnny. Show Day - Sunny/Fair Up at 11:30 - wash up and walk across the parking lot to the "Kettle" restaurant. We've eaten a lot at the "Kettle". Back to the room to pick up laundry - then to the mall and laundromat. Show Day - Sunny/Warm Wake up at 10 or so. I have a wicked hangover. I lie on the floor in the "weight room" of the house. Lee gets up and Dan shows up. The others had slept in the back room. Show Day - Sunny/Warm Wake at 10 or so. Up and out - drive to Tallahassee - about 3 hours. Eat along the way. Arrive at the "San Francisco Trolley Stop" at 4 or so. Day Off - Sunny/Hot Up at 10AM - the usual morning ritual - out at 12. Eat at the "China Express" - something about eating Chinese food in Georgia doesn't make sense. It was good and cheap though. Then we went to the radio station to do ID's - Christmas ID's to be specific. We took Joe's new SG and the "Realistic" mini amp. We played "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells" etc. Silly fun. Show Day - Sunny/Cool Up at 10 or so. Out. Eat and drive to Athens GA. Arrive around 3:30PM or so. Stop in the Uptown Lounge. A dive just like the 40 Watt - almost better though... We played Athens a few times. I think by this time it had already gone through it's ultra cool faze with REM and the B-52's in the early 80's. Show Day - Sunny Up at 9 - out and drive to a "Shoney's". We all had the breakfast bar. Drive to Columbia South Carolina. Arrive at 3:30 at "Rockafella's". Load in. Ed the booking guy is cool. We set up. Sound dude not in until 5:30. We go to radio station for an interview. OK interview - guy is real paranoid about us saying naughty words on the air. Show Day - Sunny/Warm Wake up at 4PM and get cleaned up. Eat at the "Tasty World" restaurant at the Days Inn. SLOW service. Go to Chapel Hill and arrive at the "Rhythm Alley" at 7:30. Small place but comfortable. Set up. Sound man is slow in setting up mics. Lee takes Rod and Joe to radio station. Dave B., Dan and I check sound. OK but the monitors don't work. Show Day - Sunny/Warm Greetings - a week has passed by and a lot has happened. We stayed up until 5AM last Sunday talking to Andy C.. Todd M., and LeeAnn - Andy's new girl friend.
