Day Off - Fall Weather/Cloudy Cool

Joe, Dan, Lee and I get up and go to the university area to eat and look in the shops. We eat at a bar and grill then park and walk. We wander around to record stores and the university book shop. Lee gets a temporary tattoo (6-days). Wandered back to van and then home at 5:30. Rod was up and about - he had slept lots and read. Dave from the Bubbles shows up. We eat pizza at "Conan's" about 9 or so. Back to the house to hang out. We go to the "Continental Club" to see 'Scratch Acid' - packed. Gibby and King Coffee from the 'Butthole Surfers' were there. Opening band 'Not For Sale' was OK. They did a great cover of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass's "A Taste Of Honey". Acid played VERY LOUD - BAD guitar sound - but were very tight. I had to leave club half way through the set. The loudest show I've ever seen. Home to bed about 3AM.

Looks like Conan's is still there. The Continental Club keeps on rolling. Scratch Acid crashed at our West Philly house a year or so later after playing a show in Philly. Rey the drummer was one of the best I've seen play. Gibby of the Butthole Surfers was later a guest vocalist for a track on our Metaphysical Graffiti album. And all you need to know about the Tijuana Brass is here.
