Show Day - Cold/Cloudy/Snow

I wake up off and on all morning but finally get up after Dan called and Joe and Rod had showers. The others show up and we go to eat at "Perkins" about 1PM. Then to the mall to wander around. I look for the briefcase bag I want - no luck. I buy two cassettes - Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits - it's got "Crazy" on it. I also buy a Tom Verlaine solo album for 3 bucks. Lee and Dan get film developed. We meet back at 3:30. Pick up the guitars and go to the hall.

Here is a Patsy Cline website. Here is a Tom Verlaine (and Television) website.

Load in and set up - shitty half-assed PA system. We must make the best of it. Hang out - never do get a sound check. Opening band sets up in front of us. We hang out - Lee sells T-Shirts. 225 people show up. People here are starved for shows. We are the first "out'a'town" band to play here. Opening band is OK. they do some covers. The funniest being "We Got The Beat" by the 'Go-Go's' - sung by April - a hardcore chick with an 8 inch Mohawk! It was well-played but the sight of it all was somehow funny.

We set up and play a good set. Dave's amp fucks up. We end with "2-feet". We hang out and sign stuff and answer questions. Pack up and leave about 10:30-11PM - an early show. Drive to house and drop equipment (guitars) and go to a fraternity - drink beers - eat Hardy's food, talk and play a foosball game. Drink and talk - I get tired and decide to walk to Waldo's and write and crash. Here I am right now - just finished the Patsy Cline tape - great killer tape. Tom Verlaine now then to bed. We have tomorrow off then on to Montana.
