Day Off - Rainy/Cool/Dreary

Up at 11 - off day today - big plans. Check out. I was naughty and wrote SATAN in toothpaste on the mirror and stuffed the bed covers with the pillows to look like we were still in the room. I should have left the shower on to complete the illusion. I've been reading a book about the 'Who' too much.

Seems pretty silly now. Actually my favorite thing to do was add things to the bad art work on the walls. One of my best was adding a man in a dark trench coat and fedora coming up a flight of stairs in a very impressionistic city scene. You wouldn't see him unless you really looked, and then it was a bit creepy. We also added messages to the backs of the paintings for some soul who happened look back there. A black "Sharpie" marker was always on hand.

After breakfast we went to Graceland. The tour of Elvis' house was cool and weird. 24 Carat gold leaf piano, TV's everywhere, the jungle room with gaudy Hawaiian furniture, cars, trophys and the grave. A bizarre fun tour.

We managed to fling some Milkmen stickers onto the grave.

We then drive to Little Rock, Arkansas. We go to a mall so Rodney can see the "Great Pumpkin". Dan and I wander the mall - it's funny - we get all kinds of great stares. Then to eat at a BBQ place - good food. Then to "SOB" the club we play tomorrow. We are to meet Benny the dude Dave R. said we were staying with. Two bands tonight - we hang out - bad music. Drink beer then decide not to wait for him. We get to a hotel at 12:30. Watch TV and to bed 3AM.

Rodney absolutely had to see the Charlie Brown special so we had to stop at the mall where we had access to a TV in a department store. Can you imagine us walking into a bar and asking the locals to turn the game off so we could watch Linus?
