October 12, 1986 - Siesta Key, FL

Day Off - Sunny/Warm

We woke up about 11:30. We get ourselves together. Tom and Crystal blow off work and sleep late. We get cleaned up and eat at "Denny's". Drop the keg back at the distributor and pick up "Wendy's" for Tom and Crystal. We get back at about 3. Lee, Dan and I go to "Turtle Beach" - right down the road. It's great - white sandy beaches, warm water - we make camp. I go for a dip. We all read or write. Lots of post cards get written. More water, sun and silly jokes. The others stayed at the house and watched TV.

Back to house at 6:45. Shower and then we decide to go for Chinese food. We call some friends of T & C. We meet them and go for food. Our plan was to go to the movies. We can't decide on a movie. Decide to rent VCR movies. Pick up three - "Trick or Treat", "Gung Ho", and "Silent Night, Deadly Night". We pick up beers and watch "Trick or Treat". Bad but really funny. "Gung Ho" next - some funny lines. Michael Keaton is good. George Wendt is good. Directed by Ron Howard. OK film as a whole. We decide to watch "Silent Night..." tomorrow. To bed at 2:30.
