Show Day - Hot/Warm/Cloudy 75°-80°

Woke at 10:30. I had showered and washed my hair last night so I got to relax for an extra 45 minutes. We get our act together and load up and out by noon. We drive around for 45 minutes and find a diner. We eat then drive to the club. Arrive at 2:30. Hang out. Dave R., Rodney, and Dave B. go to a radio station. We set up and have a leisurely sound check. "Peabody's" is a nice place. Dan, Joe and I jam. Others arrive back and we officially check then go over new material for the 3rd album. We stop about 6PM and go to "Shanghai Inn" - cheesy hotel - slimy place. Unload baggage and leave at 6:30. Drive to the "Parthenon Restaurant" - Greek restaurant for dinner. OK food.

Here's the Peabody's website. I went back to Cleveland a few years ago to see my drum sticks in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Museum and my wife and I stayed in the same Holiday Inn again.

Back to club at 8:30 - the place is loaded. We hang out. 'The Floyd Band' opens - weird but good. We get ready - play at 9:30 or so. Good sound, good set. Lots of slam dancing - crowd is good but violent. We encore with "Retards", "Hangin'" and "The Fez". Larry the promoter is happy with the show. Hang out and drink beers. 'The Raunch Hands' show up. I had met them at Katy Lyle's this summer in Boston. Fun to hang out with. We exchange bad tour stories.

Here's the lowdown on 'The Raunch Hands'. Larry Collins was a great promoter that we played many shows for in Cleveland.

At 12 or so we go with Larry and Penny (from the radio station) to a Chinese restaurant. Average food. "Home" to the Shanghai about 1:30AM. I catch up on journal and to bed at 2PM. Youngstown tomorrow. I start to think about home - we'll be there on Sunday.

We'll be stopping in Philadelphia for 5 days to leave Dave R. behind and pick up our friend and "roadie-to-be" Lee Woulfe. We'll continue the tour well into December.

Peabodys is still around but in a new location, it used to be in the "Flats", now it is by Cleveland State University on Euclid and 22nd...

I didn't know Terri Garr was from Lakewood,OH thats where I live (suburb of Cleveland).

Floyd Band just played their last show a few weeks ago, Floyd moved to N. Carolina.

They weren't together this whole time since the 80s, but they would do shows every once in a while..

Check out this site for lots of old and new Cleveland punk bands
