Here is my entry for August 27:

Off to Columbus, Ohio. Our second show at Stache's - the only "return show" of the tour. About same size crowd as last, but his one was less lively and considerably older. I thought we gave a worse show. Had problems with my guitar, would not stay in tune, broke a string. Dave Blood suggests I buy a new guitar soon.

[I did not buy a new guitar - didn't have enough money. But I did replace the tuning pegs with better ones that held the tune. That did the trick. My black Gibson S-G would remain my main and favorite guitar for another four years.]

Tim A. of The Offense [a favorite fanzine of mine] was at this show. Said he liked the show.

We stayed at the house of three Ohio State students (at least I think they were students) one of whom was the bass player for the band that opened for us (Royal Crescent Mob). His name was Happy (nickname for Harold). A rather happy guy, really. Good bass player too. RCM is funky James-Brownish heavy metal music - "Funk Heavy Metal" describes their sound nicely I think.
