Day Off - Sunny/Hot

Woke late. Coffee (sounds like a repeat of every other morning for the past week or weeks!). Lazed around. Phone calls etc. etc. Hoped to play party in the the evening - ended up going to a party connected with a radio station. Hilliare - 25-30 year old's party for 'Brad' who was going to be a professor up at a San Francisco area college. Boring until we all got drunk. Actually I stopped drinking about 12:30 - thought we were going to leave. Dave R. stopped also. I fell asleep.

I seem to remember a large fish tank and Rodney getting a string and paper clip and going "fishing". I think I was going to be the driver so that's why I stopped drinking early. I can't believe I napped at a party though. I must have been really tired. (Funny to see I'm already criticising my diary entries as I'm experiencing them..)

When I woke up everybody else was trashed and being generally obnoxious. Everybody else at the party was gone except us and the D.J. people. Dave R. and Rodney were trashed beyond anything I have ever seen. We pushed them out onto the lawn. They lost what ever they had in their liquor torn stomachs and rolled on the grass. Helped clean up. We would follow Tony and Claire back to Parkside Apartments. Get moving. I poured a drop - I emphasize drop on Rod's cheek. He was not amused - got up and started swinging fists. Dave Blood pushed him to the ground. "Who spilled beer on me!" screamed Rod. "I did". He lunged towards me falling and tripping. Tried to punch me several times - "Rod, we'll settle this tomorrow." I said. He was in no position to fight. I didn't want to fight him.

The Parkside Aprtments must be the complex that Terry lived in where we were staying in Irvine. I have no idea why I was being an ass and dripped the beer on Rodney. I was probably annoyed that we had to cart them home in such a state.

After about five tense minutes we all piled into the van and off we went. Followed Tony and Claire - ended up going to Claire's house - rich apartment. Dumped Dave R. in the spare bedroom (after he had puked out the van window all the way over). Joe fell asleep on the couch. Rod upstairs. Claire made Dave B. and me coffee - after my nap at the party I wasn't tired. I ventured up to bathroom - occupied. Rod lunged at me again. We struggled for awhile - he was in no position to win. I dumped him on the floor and went downstairs. He eventually fell asleep.

I think Claire and Tony were D.J.s at the radio station. We must have hooked up with them through Enigma Records.

Dave B. and I drank coffee and talked. Dave B. called Jackie at 3:30. Played tapes at high volume all night. She was not amused. Called Mike Morrison - 8AM his time - not amused. I talked to him. Chit-chat. Dave B. fell asleep about 7AM. Me about 8AM or so.

I remember that Claire had (was it her parent's place?) a rather new technology - a CD player - as part of her stereo. Dave B. is an audiophile and we were playing the few CD's she had and checking it out. We both had never seen one before. We also drank all her expensive Kona coffee. Sorry Claire. Dave Blood remembers us periodically checking Dave R. to make sure that he was still breathing.
