Day Off - Sunny/Hot/Clear

Woke up at 10AM - well rested. Lazed around and drank coffee. Jackie called - told us Die Kreuzen showed up at The Offenders gig at Pi Lam - played great. Enigma wants 2000 more lyric sheets - 4000 total. They plan to sell 6000?!! Also we're number 10 out of 20 on the CMJ Adventure Pick List - COOL!

Here's the "Almost Official Die Kreuzen Web Page" and it looks like The Offenders are still around. Pi Lam was the punk rock/music friendly fraternity on the University of Pennsylvania campus. We played a few shows there including an annual event called the Human Barbecue. This is an all day event with non-stop bands. During our set, we had so many people moshing and jumping around that the floor beams cracked and we had to clear the area. A year later they had Rodney return for a re-christening of the floor. Pi Lam was great for free beer and I even managed to get a free meal once in awhile.

Went to pool and swam. Got too much sun - I'm red all over. Back to house for meatball sandwiches and a late lunch. Back to pool activities center. Pinball and ping pong. Hang out. Call Jane and Frank and get Lee Woulfe's number. Call him - glad to hear from us. Back to house and wait for Rod who walked around town (so did Dave B. and Joe). We go to Miniature Golf. I lost my ball and we generally had fun at everyone else's expense. Rodney had "Arthur Deco" paged. Played pinball. Off to Wendy's - Lee W. is manager there and gave us free dinner. Nice to see him. We'll stay with him sometime in the days to come. Home at 10PM. Watched TV - tired - off to bed at 12 or so.

"Would a Mr. Art Deco please report to the information desk!" Here's an early example of the phone call fun we had. Killing time while waiting in airports and hotel lobbies usually involved using the payphones for a little 1-800 roulette. Another activity when going into restaurants with hostesses that called your name when the table was ready involved quickly determining whether they used the term "Family" or "Party". If it was "Family", then we were usually the "The Manson Family". If it was "Party" then we were either the "Lets Party" or the "The Donner Party".
