Day Off - Sunny/Hot

Woke 11AM. Lazed around. Waited for Rob to come home from work. To Jeff's place for a jam and practice at 2:30-3PM. Dave R. stayed and made calls - confirmed shows and talked to Enigma. Everything will be OK; we just have to keep going. Thinking about September a lot. Got to move into a new place and get a job I like. Dave R. is talking about going out to New England for 4-5 days at the end of September. I suppose we'll be very busy from now on.

I quit my full time job at a printing company to go on this tour. We were living the rock 'n' roll dream of releasing a record and going on tour. I wonder what I'd be doing now if we didn't have that initial success of 'Big Lizard' and the song "Bitchin' Camaro". I wonder how long we would have stuck with it? We'd be arriving back in Philadelphia in September to move into a new apartment, with no jobs and probably no money. Crazy.

Jammed until 6:30-7PM with a break for food. Packed our gear up and took Judy (the girlfriend of Chuck from the Defoliants) to her gig at the Cubby Bear. She plays bass for "Peri and the HiFi's". Apparently play top 40 sounding stuff. We left - back to Rob's. Dave R., Rod and Jeff and I went out. Dave R. hadn't eaten. Had an 'Old Style'. Back to Rob's. Doing laundry - off to Des Moines tomorrow. Hope the trip out West goes OK and everything continues to go well. To bed 1:30-2AM.

We haven't had too much bad luck yet - only a bunch of off days. I think we've played only 9 shows out of 21 days and made about $800 dollars. Can five guys in a van survive a tour across the United States on $40 dollars a day!?
