Up at 11AM or so - clean up - pack up. Walked to State Street. Got breakfast at a weird cafe - hippy type joint. Good croissants, iced tea, coffee, apple tarts, sandwiches. Leave Madison at 2 or so. Madison is very nice - probably the nicest place so far in terms of me possibly living there someday. College town, beach, clubs, good looking girls, nice people in general.

Madison is a nice town. I'd like to go back for a visit someday.

I drove the 3 hour drive to Chicago. Staying with the Defoliants Rob. He has a big apartment his dad recently moved out of. Got to windy city and called Jeff. He would guide us to WZRD. Chuck was doing a radio show and Rob dubbing tapes. Arrived at 6PM. We did interview - played Big Lizard. Picked some tunes. I called Jonny - nice to talk to him. We hung out at the station until 10:30.

WZRD is still around (I think?). The Jonny I mention here is Jon Wurster now of Superchunk.

Back to Rob's. Watched TV. Rod went out to van. An hour later he rushed back in - someone tried to break into the van. Dave and Rod ran back out. The guy was back - STUPID! He saw Dave and Rod and ran into bushes. I was going out - walked up alley. A guy walked past - green shirt - shag cut hair - glasses - smoking a cigarette. Up ahead the van was next to a car - both had headlights on. Dave and Rod talking to two guys. I played it cool and walked to driver side of van. Guy stopped me - turned out to be two plain clothes cops. Weird? Took our names and addresses etc. After they left, Rod, Rob, Dave and I moved van (stopped at 7-11 for food). Talked to Rod - the guy I had seen was the dude who tried to break in. Dave and Rod slept in van. We watched more TV. Newlywed Game - what a riot. Dating Game - (Skylab Falling). to bed 3:30AM.

I find our TV watching very funny. And what is the reference to 'Skylab Falling'?!? Must be some weird inside joke? Or an answer on the Dating Game?
