Day Off - Sunny

Woke at 11 or so. Everybody got cleaned up. Left by 12:30 or so. Ate breakfast at Bob Evans family restaurant. Headed for Chicago. Uneventful ride - arrived at 8:30 or so at Sheila's in Evanston - North side of Chicago. Drank beers and ate pizza. I slept in the van - to bed at 12:30. Everybody else went to bed except Dave R. - he went with Sheila, Paul and Ken to bar. Drank until 3AM.

Bob Evans became a favorite of ours over the years. We could get "Rock 'n Roll Breakfast" there. This means you can get breakfast food any time of the day. Restaurants that offered "Rock 'n Roll Breakfasts" were high on our lists of OK eateries. "I slept in the van..." - on this tour at least we usually had someone stay in the van at night to help prevent theft of our gear. It wasn't always possible (or desirable) to carry everything inside wherever we were staying.

We would later transform the Bob Evans jingle from "Bob Evans - down on the farm" to "Bob Evans - goin' down on your mom." Ha, that'll show all of you snobbish reviews that called us "sophomoric" a thing or two! We walked in the footsteps of Swift and...um...that other satire guy...
