It was a long time ago, like 1992-93... Some freinds and i went to see the Dead Milkmen in Indianapoils. Right next to the venue was a Subway(the sandwich shop). We were going in to have a bite and i saw the guys, and about crapped my pants. I was probably about 16 at the time, filled with idol worship;) with a little hesitation i asked "hey are you guys the dead milkmen?" Sure as winter is cold in indiana, it was. They chatted a while, and they all drew pictures and signed a napkin for me. Dave drew a guy chasing after a frizbee.
After hearing the news i dug up that napkin, and remembered how open and cool they all were. no rock star attitude, i'm convinced they loved the fans as much as we loved them.
Like so many others, dave made an impression on me, made me dance, sing, and listening to those songs can help me feel 15 again, everytime. My heart and love goes out to you, Kathy.
I live in delaware county. If i may, i would feel honored to pay my respects.
