Thanks for the rare Midnight Oil and INXS mp3's Tarantula. I knew they existed somewhre in your mp3 collection. I just had to search for them.

the queues on soulseek are too damn long to get anything. am i going about getting files the wrong way?

Yeah. Sadly the search function doesn't work as well as it should.

What I do is add a lot of people to my list. The "search in user list" function is a lot more reliable. But yeah, often you have to be patient.

i don't really have a problem with the search function, it's that when i find something that i want, the person(s) that has it has like 100 downloads queued.

I just download whole folders at a time, that way you can just 'set it and forget it' to quote that annoying infomercial. I come back the next day and I have a few albums downloaded. I still like BitTorrent better.

Yeah, but when the search worked properly you could find more results, and hence usually find one that isn't queued up from here till April.

I've used soulseek once from my boyfriend's brother's computer, using his ID and everything. I never got that much insulted in my whole life. That was a very traumatising experience... Let's just say that's the day I discovered that he had downloaded a massive amount of porn flicks!
