I guess everyone does. I figure it's cause driving brings out the worst in people because you can't really say anything to bad drivers or do anything to them so they act as they please. Kind of like the internet.

and another thing! moorcock goes around all "landscapes should be surreal, and reflect the characters inner mood. my stories about elric have that going for them and they're totally awesome. LOTR has realistic landscapes with convincing details, and thats another one of the reasons why it totally sucks"

androgynous feminist fantasy writers who say 'LOTR is a nice, juvenile male fantasy, but who does the dishes?' (HINT: it's SAM)

their problem with LOTR? not counting any of the female heroes in it, LOTR has no female heroes in it. and if there are female heroes in it, they have minor roles and they don't actually kill anything. well these androgynous feminist fantasy writers have solved that problem by writing a story about a huge musclebound barbarian woman who rips people apart for no reason. and it was also important for them to make the barbarian-ess butch because of the unrealistic example set for women barbarians by red sonja.

i use plural cause there's two of them. i can't remember their names. i saw this on Prisoners of Gravity many years ago.

one year dave attel was on just for laughs and he did some bit about air fresheners in bathrooms. 'what is there a lemonade stand in here?' he says, 'who do you think you're fooling? i know that you did something smelly in here, and now you don't want me to smelly it!'

yes he said 'smelly it'. first 5 times i saw this, didn't think twice. now it's time.. 12 or something and i can't stop thinking about it. sometimes i decide it's extra funny cause he said 'smelly it,' so i figure it was intentional. sometimes i think he screwed up, cause he looked a little surprised after he said it, but he went on with the show anyways.

He probably did mess it up. He moved on because if he corrected himself people would think it was part of the joke and it would flop leaving people wondering why he had said that extra little bit.
When in doubt fuck it. When not in doubt, get in doubt.

moorcock's says that LOTR and probably tolkien is fascist. aragorn can't just be a hero, he also has to be a long lost king. the fellowship spends most of their time hobnobbing with royalty. whereas in elric it's all socialist democracies and anarchy. anything less is immoral and irresponsible for his readers.

the exception to the rule being elric, who's some sort of asshole prince who spends a chapter breaking all the china in his castle with some friend of his cause he's bored and the friend asks 'this is a huge mess! who's going to clean this up?' and elrics like 'let the maid get it' also it was pointed out that the maid isn't paid.

yeah maybe i'm paraphrasing but i don't feel like looking it up

I hate when meteorologists warn about the threat of global warming when it's 20 degrees outside.
