Hey all you people out there,
I just created a bandcamp account for (one of) my old band(s), The Uptown Welcomes. We were more or less a two-piece (with the occasional drummer who won't talk to one of us ever again....not me, I work with him) and only released one album, Heated, on Bucky's old Vailent Death Records. It's mostly instrumental and sometimes experimental (although the tracks I put on bandcamp are a little more accessible than some others).

This is a pared down compilation of stuff from 10 years worth of nonsense. If this collection is deemed okay, maybe I'll put up a volume 2.
Yes, it's free. No, it will NOT be released on vinyl.
Let me know what you guys and gals think!

Hahahahahaha!
It's good, but trust me - it wouldn't be worth the wax it's pressed onto. |

i liked it, dude man. i will definitely be downloading it.
i always like the sound of surf rock, it makes me want to boogie on the surf rock subject, there was totally a Red Elvises show near me tonight but i couldn't go cause it's 21+. i'm pretty peeved.
i especially liked Finishing Line at the Interstellar Race, Laidback, Allright!, Change The Pretty Ending, and A Mix of Sun and Clouds (cool little spaghetti western riffs). also, in Laidback, Allright! your vocals reminded me of They Might Be Giants. _________________ you need to respect the baby, cause life is precious and god and the bible. |

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! And yes, They Might Be Giants were definitely an influence on us. If I can find one, I could send you a copy of our one and only album. Or maybe if Bucky (from Valient Death records) is reading this and has some left over. A lot of these tracks were from a second release we had planned, but it's scale was grander than we had anticipated.
And yeah, the Red Elvises rule. I've never seen them live, but everything I've heard by them is pretty damn good. |

You're welcome! Sorry it's always music I was involved with though. I'd feel weird giving someone else's music away for free (yeah right). |

| I downloaded the tracks when you first posted them but haven't been able to listen yet. I'm hearing surf rock and TMBG though, so I'm just gonna pre-emptively say that I love it. |
