...but he don't know jack shit.
I'm just wrapping up his most recent book, "Under The Dome," and I quote from page 836...
"Norrie sat between them on the engine housing, clutching her skateboard, which was covered with stickers bearing the logos of long-gone punk bands like Stalag 17 and the Dead Milkmen."
I don't know if I should be impressed for the reference, or bugged by the "long-gone" statement.
King's always been pretty cool with his music references in his books, though. I know he wouldn't drop the name if he didn't somehow like the music.
King started a blog about three months ago under the guise of one of the tech-geek kid characters (friend of this Norrie girl) and I was surprised to see how few people caught on. He was actually responding to (the relatively few) comments on a regular basis. Had I known I would have been able to tell him directly that the Milkmen are as long-gone as King is retired.
I'll just chalk it up for a cool reference. It's always good to see the DM mentioned somewhere new. |

Oh yeah... and the ending of the book completely sucks.
I liked Stephen King better when he was a drugged up drunk... just like the Beatles and Elvis. |
