I was here the other day and was clicked on the link for the pre-order for Joe's LP and ended up at the HHBTM Records website. From there I found a some videos of others on the label and the first one I clicked on was the video below. I love this song and can't get it out of my head at the moment. I downloaded the album that this song is from ("Albatross") and I was thinking about getting more. Anybody here listen to Fishboy?

Holy crap, they are good! I like that jangly geetar. Just gained another new fan, thanks man! Yeah, that rhymed.
Edit: Nevermind. That one song was good, but the more I listened, the more hipster it got.
Edit #2: Ok, half their stuff isn't bad.
See folks, this post is a prime example of why I lurk much more than post. _________________ ~Evee

It was a good post - I enjoyed it. You used different font sizes to great effect. Your post displayed a level of neuroticism that I appreciated and related to.
Who cares if they are a little hipsterey, I love the music and lyrics.
Additionally, to be hipster, in my opinion, implies some amount of inauthenticity. They seemed pretty genuine to me. _________________ I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then at the age I am now

I wonder if the song Taqueria Girl is a knock off and mix of Punk Rock Girl and Taco Land? _________________ Porn |

here's their most recent album streaming, with a comic that you can read along as you listen.

It appears that Albatross and Classic Creeps are both concept albums of sorts. And they both kinda work too.
I hope I don't burn out in two weeks on this band. _________________ I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then at the age I am now

Here's the lyrics, you be the judge:
one saturday I took a walk to San Anton
I met a girl there and did not feel so alone
Taqueria Girl - tells lots of jokes
Taqueria Girl - has a lot to share
She's got some dirty hair, and she's got her dress up in the air
IMO, it's nothing like either song you mention ... _________________ I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then at the age I am now

The great thing about being in this band is that if you each each member to recommend a band, you'll get four completely different types of bands as an answer (the band I recommend will, of course, be the best one).
That said, I think we're all close to reaching an agreement on whether "I am The Lazer Viking" by An Albatross or "Countdown To The End" by The End is the most f'ed up song of all time. |

Speaking of something truly f'ed up (and wonderful) that I learned about via this website.
The Left Rights - I'm On Crack
And something else cool that I picked up via the milkmen (via some radio show take-over thing I heard streaming someplace a few years back - recorded in the '80s perhaps)
The Stickmen
Something else f'ed up is that I keep saying "f'ed". Why can't we just say fucked? Fewer keystrokes? It's hard for me to believe that anybody coming here would truly be any less offended (or offended at all for that matter) by saying "f'ed" as opposed to fucked! _________________ I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then at the age I am now

Yeah I got the "Insatiable" album (it's a comp I think) via itunes a few years back. I enjoy it when I'm in the right kinda mood. Not the best music to listen to in the car for me as it tends to put my road rage tendencies into over drive. Also, something about the stickmen makes me want to destroy everything. Some of their songs make me feel like I'm staring in a Terry Gilliam film. _________________ I'll imagine what it would be like to live back then at the age I am now
