Not too shabby of a record.
So which came first; the idea for this album or Joe's lyric in Can't Relax? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Bambeezle |

Shows have also been being cancelled due to "low ticket sales."
Needless to say, lowest price for tickets for the show in my area (which was cancelled) was almost 30 bucks, before fees and such. I'd pay that for Ween, sure, but that's a bit steep for a solo Aaron Freeman show. I can understand why ticket sales were low, if that's how all his shows are being priced. _________________ The unofficial archivist. Keep digitizing those old recordings everybody!

Do you like Aaron Freeman? I've been a big Ween
fan ever since the release of their 1992 album, Pure Guava. Before
that I really didn't understand any of their work. It was too
artsy, too intellectual. It was on Pure Guava where Aaron Freeman's
presence became more apparent.
I think "Push Th' Little Daisies" is the group's undisputed
masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility, at the
same time it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding
two albums.
Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of McClelland,
Freeman and Coleman. You can practically hear every nuance
of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship and sheer
songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism.
Take the lyrics to "The Stallion, Pt. 3." In this
song, Aaron Freeman addresses the problem of abusive political
authority.
"The Goin' Gets Tough from the Getgo " is the most moving pop song of the 1990s about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.
Aaron Freeman's solo efforts seem to be more commercial and
therefore more satisfying in a narrower way, especially
songs like "As I Love My Own" and "Pushing the Clouds Away.”
But I also think that Aaron Freeman works better
within the confines of the group than as a solo artist-and
I stress the word artist. This is "Seasons In The Sun," a great,
great song, a personal favorite. _________________ I don't always listen to punk, but when I do, I prefer Dead Milkmen. Stay thirsty, my friends. |
