The Christian Hosoi documentary on Netflix has a nice snipet
of "The Thing That Only Eats Hippies" by The Elders I believe.
It's a cool film that takes you back to the skate days of yore.
The poor guy went to prison for meth and found jesus..
It's a good watch though. |

That doc was on cable about a year ago. I was watching it, and I thought "This song sounds familiar". It took a few seconds for the fact it was a DM tune to sink in. I was unaware of the cover version at that time. |

Yeah for a minute (well, several until the end credits) I was
wondering who was covering who. Sure enough, your full
names are given writing credit. They seem to have done the
song justice in their own way. We used to skate to the real
version back then.

Ah memories. I used to skate a Hosoi hammerhead back in the day...went hand in hand with the DM...I'm sure I strike a common chord among others here, at least with DM & skateboarding.
Oh, and thanks, DM, for exposing me in those days to acid. It really made me think. |

God has a plan for each one of us. He will meet us right where we are at weather it be in jail on meth or whatever.

Wow, I was 10 in 87 .... I don't remember bleaching any jeans. Now, tight-rolling the cuffs .... that's what I remember.
Wow ... the style has apparently returned to some degree among hipsters in London
