Stumbled upon this Mark Prindle review.

Please forgive me if it's already been posted!

Great review! Except - "'I Can’t Relax' is in fact the worst song ever written"

WHAT?!?! I can accept the "vomitous jazz-pop" comment, but....worst song ever written?!?!

Have you ever listened to Coldplay? Geez...

“It’s Still Rock & Roll to Me” & “We Built This City” tie for Worst Song Ever Written. People either love or hate “Can’t Relax”. I love it (and have seen reviewsers call it their favourite track on the CD) although Vienna is sick of me singing it around the house. I say “Four-letter words can have TWO meanings” at least thrice daily.

In retrospect, I think I should’ve experimented with some “noisier” sounds on it: given it a harsher sound. Metallic horns and growl synth, maybe. Who knows? Maybe I’ll try a remix at home this weekend. Also, I’d add samples of Winnie Hicks from Flatliners saying the dirty words that got censored.

Once again, Prindle hits the nail on the head for the most part. I don't think "I Can't Relax" is the worst song ever written, but it's definitely my least favorite on the album.

I think I'm in the minority when I say that "Hangman" is my favorite. I don't know why.

Probably true.

Interesting story, though.

I was in a public shopping facility recently, and that song was piped in over the speakers... At the chorus I heard a man, who must have been about my age, sing "We built these titties from sil-i-coooone!"

Now how could I- an immature and possibly evil moron- have been in the New Jersey public school system when this song first came out, then lived my entire life up until today, and NEVER before have heard such an obvious, obnoxious, and utterly immature parody?!? It just doesn't seem possible!

Yeah, so this dude hates "I Can't Relax", yet he has a review for not one, but every single fucking "Weird Al" record and he gives them all a fairly good rating. Then he has the nerve to hate a lot of my favorite Negativland records. Son of a bitch!

Yes, but has anyone been exposed to Ke$ha lately? It's the equivalent of a large, hairy German taking a dookie in your ear canal. Shocked I'd say her song was the worst ever, but I can't pick just one. Rolling Eyes

OK. First off, I'm going to defend Mark P. Not because he's right about "Can't Relax" (In fact, he couldn't have been more wrong had he written "Sex with the British is a thoroughly enjoyable experience with hardly and vomiting experienced afterwards") but because - at the very least - he's passionate about music.

If there's one thing I HATE about modern music criticism it's the pansy-assed "Well, this is just my opinion and it's all subjective anyway" bullshit that permeates nearly everything I read. For the love of FUCK, can't we all agree that there are some absolutes out there? Look, people some music sucks hirsute Yanomamö scrotum and some doesn't. Terrorkode's "Motherfuckers" is a really good song. "Silly Love Songs" isn't. It's not just my opinion; it's a goddamn fact, Jack!

You know what else pisses me the FUCK off? When someone says "Well, I'm not into them but [insert popular artist(s) here] writes some really decent pop music." Fuck you. You know what? Saying someone writes "decent good pop music" is like saying "I know Fred's a child molester, but at least he leaves most of his victims alive." I've had it up to my engorged member with shoe-gazing cry-baby rockers who just want to pen a good pop song . This is Rock 'n' Roll, ass-tronaut: Fuck shit up or step aside.

And as for fuckin' with song titles, how could you BASTARDS forget to mention TZDV? I've heard people shout "Cats Don't Like Beer", "Get Me Light Beer" and, my favorite, "Rats, Bats. Dykes, Queers!" when it gets played in clubs. And it gets played quite often. Too fuckin' often. Next time you hear it, do what I do: when he says "This is a song for all the rivetheads", shout "Aw, and we didn't get you ANYTHING.

And yes, Faderhead was here, in Philly, last weekend. I didn't go because I'm still on the fence as to whether he's serious or not...and I was just getting over a stomach virus. OK, so - and we'll just judge him on "Dirtygrrrls Dirtybois" - is Faderhead serious, or is this some joke that I'm not in on?

This sounds like the greatest idea of the year.
I can only imagine how awesome that would be- TRULY the type of thing sampling was meant for. None of that bullshit Guns'N'Roses sampling Cool Hand Luke to show off the fact that they've seen Cool Hand Luke...
