So, since Hollywood Records, now a Disney product, screwed the DM and never really promoted or distributed the albums they are holding hostage I had a thought.
If someone were to make an anonymous donation to the DM or a charity of their choice, I think I could find a way to share with you what I have.
This skirts on copyright infringements, so we would have to brainstorm the most legal way to do this.
One of my 14 favorite DM albums is Not Richard But Dick and I feel like everyone should have had an opportunity to be witness to the greatness that it is.
The theory is:
If you are my friend I would loan you a CD
If I own a CD I can legally make a back up
If I loan you my backup and you are a jerk and don't return it, that is my loss.
You can buy me a stamp and an envelope legally.
I personally would love to borrow someone's back up of Now We Are 10.
I am insistent that the "Donation" be made. It should be something fair, $10-$15.
Feel free to delete this thread if it is too controversial or off color.

If you would read the forum, you would have already seen his post about the torrent and could have already downloaded it and many other rare DM albums like we all did..

What I was proposing was something that is not necessarily illegal and would benefit the group.
You have proposed that I break the law and hurt one of my favorite bands of all time? hmmmmm
God forbid we try to help out a group of guys that have given many of us hundreds of hours of joy and entertainment.
Steal all the Brittany Spears and Justin Bieber albums you want they can afford it, but the DM and other smaller independent artists deserve a little more and better from their fans IMO.

So how are The Dead Milkmen weathering the 2nd Great Depression? Are they taking in boarders? Does Mrs. Milkmen clean other peoples' houses? Have they had to sell the second Milkman -mobile? Have they been laid off and the unemployment cheque has stopped coming? Are they forced to choose between pricey prescription drugs and food? Did they have to cancel their annual vacations snorkeling in the Seychelles?
Why just last week Dean was spotted sipping Chilean champagne with his Chateau Briand.

Seychelles, is the place for me, I though Cape Verde was my next trip after Fiji, but I may change my plans.
Especially since I may catch the DM boys at the pool bar sipping pina colada's.
By making a donation to them I could help ensure that meeting could be a possibility.
I wouldn't be caught dead in Philadelphia, so tropical islands is where we will have to meet.
Except for the little man in their heads I am pretty sure they missed the 1st great depression, so the second great depression is their first.
Well I am off to steal a DM album instead of paying some one something for it (unless you count my soul to the devil).

I could care less what you do guy. None of those albums have ever been released anyway for purchase... and they were mostly all found here.. so apparently the band doesn't care.
The link to the damn torrent can be found on this message board in 2 different places now.
So stop sounding like a wuss and download the music already.
I guarantee you already did anyway.

The albums to which I was referring WERE released commercially, but are out of print. The rights to the music are still being horded by the evile Disney Corp.
The whole point of this thread was to disburse 2 great albums to people who cannot or do not own them by any reasonable means and to kick back something directly to the great band that poured their heart and soul into them.
But instead, the proposition is to steal them and give nothing back.
I am going to report your name to the ELF, the RIAA, the ASPCA and the Mormons.

lol @ thinking major label musicians make any money regardless of who downloads the records instead of buying them
