Why is it so boring?

I'm sure it was interesting once. And not really just because I hadn't spent 10 years looking up everything yet. You used to be able to find some good solid communities, and I'd be always finding new people to chat to. They've all gone, for the most part. Now everything's too nice, too quiet, or overrun by retards, so I just sit here and stare at the screen hoping it will make my life better one day.

Did everyone that doesn't suck just leave? Or did I just forget to get a real life? Don't answer that.

Maybe I should start finding some more hobbies. I reckon there's probably some interesting things out there, but I can't really be bothered committing myself to most hobbies that seriously. Maybe there's some old lady recipe clubs I could get in on. They've probably got a lot of spare time and the desire to talk endlessly. And I like cooking.

Actually, I was going to write a book. Except I'm not good at writing, and don't really want to have to read a whole lot of books in order to learn how to write, because the problem is that I don't like many books that I read and that's why I wanted to write my own.

I'm moving house in a week or so. That sucks.

I don't have anything else much to write, so that'll do. Sorry for wasting 4 minutes of your life.

You could surf more....the ocean that is, not the net. The internet has always sucked...it's been sucking the life out of people since Al Gore invented it.
Go out and enjoy Gods wonderful places...like the ocean.SURF MORE, I guess you have to watch for sharks down there though.

I'm pretty sure the whole thing about Al Gore inventing the Internet is just a Futurama joke.

Completely.

And yeah, not a fan of surfing or the beach, but I have a pool in my current house and I've been swimming a lot, walking, and doing lots of other stuff the past few months. So it's quite the opposite, I have been getting out a lot more and spending less time on the computer. I dunno, I just remember it being entertaining. Maybe it was all the alcohol.

The internet is really just a means of getting certain bits of knowledge out there and to acquire said info. Unfortunately most of the knowledge that people have to share is useless and pointless. Everything has said and even reiterated to a degree the only thing that is left to do as a human race is keep going downhill from here. People get lives and move on I know I am not posting as much as I had in past days. I am not really putting much out here for us but I am doing my part in making sure this board doesn't go completely dead.

I don't post on this message board nearly as much as I used to because I'm failing to see the point in complaining about my own life or anyone else's more and more each day.

Al Gore did indeed claim to create the internet. It sounds crazy, but he actually did play a significant role in its development.

As for the internet being boring, I feel like it's been same old, same old. But then again, I've never really sought out communities or talked to random people online. This is really the only internet community I've been a part of.

Oh hell no. I just do less of both at the same time. Actually, I'd be more drunk now except I thought I'd have to go to an airport pickup (that was cancelled) and now it's a bit late to start. So yes, even more bizarrely, this topic was posted sober.

And yeah Rory, I've never actually gone friend-hunting or anything Wink but I used to get a kick out of occasionally exchanging thoughts with people who like some of the same stuff as I do. I never get that in real life. My friends suck.

That's a good point Adict, but I was kind of just wondering if everything was getting worse or if it was just me getting old and crankier. I think it's probably a bit real and a bit perspective.

Anyway, I was just thinkin' out loud. I've probably got some more shitty threads in me if I let it flow...

It is probably a little bit of you getting older and crankier but more so things getting worse. Think of how much we have regressed over the past years. Just social life in and of its own has gotten odd. There aren't enough weird and unique people out there. Too many cookie cutters of complete and utter bullshit. There are good things but those all seem older to me. I think mroe bad things have been happening than good lately and it has been a distraction to many.

i have noticed that i will turn on the computer and only go to a few websites. here , work , ebay ( to buy shit for work) , noonsite ( to read about places i hope to go to) and newzbin. most of the time after i check out those few places. i just type in "nude" or skinny dipping and see where it takes me. this is the only message board i go to. i used to chat on irc about 12 years ago. but that was only while i was at work. waiting for people to cash out on the video poker machines. i got hooked on this site a week before the memorial shows. i would check this site every couple of months. by the time i saw that those shows were going to happen the first night was already sold out. i didnt want that to happen again so i have read almost everything that ya'll have posted since. (and i am hoping that the girl from the frapper site with the pink hair will start posting)
so after that rant... the internet sucks just as bad as it did before you are just getting bored.

Cheers, thanks.

I suspected that was the case, but like Adict says it does seem to be getting worse. Everything that becomes popular eventually does, I guess.

Like I said, not really looking or needing for it to entertain me or anything, but it used to from time to time.

But hey, look at this cat who catches the bus... lolz

I used to frequent a few chats in the range of 7-9 years ago and I seriously can't imagine the Internet is much different now than it was back then. Age makes everything seem better. I was actually tolerant of people back then and actually liked a lot of the people I was chatting with. Due to moving, then getting ditched by a bunch of faggots I thought were my friends back when high school started, I haven't been able to trust people ever since. I'm sure if I went back there I wouldn't be able to read the chat for more than 15 seconds before closing the window in disgust and sitting here hating everything. I just don't see the point in taking it out on other people anymore because they don't get it. They'll never get it. I don't even fucking care anymore. Fuck people. Fuck them all. Fuck girlfriends, fuck regular friends, fuck accquaintances, fuck coworkers, fuck everybody. I'm so sick of mother fucking people. I realize that without people I wouldn't be able to live my life the way I do so I act nice to them when I see them, smile, pay them money for whatever, pay money being grateful to the fine people who make the things I consume and live with. I will never have any problems with them as long as they leave me the fuck alone. It would bother me if certain people died yes, but more because it would inconvinience my own life. So I'm an asshole. Big fucking shit. I realize I'm going to be alone whether I'm an asshole or a nice guy because I guess I'm just not a likeable enough person for most people to get along with. So why the fuck should I bother being nice to people who don't give a fuck about me unless I need company or something from them?

"The cat was nicknamed Macavity after the mystery cat in T.S Elliot's poem."

If this happened in the U.S., his nickname would probably be Garfield or Heathcliff or Salem. The internets learn us something new everyday.
