Well, since you didn't contribute to this in any way, on Saturday I'm going to some warehouse to see a benefit show for Jack Control with a bunch of good locals. So yeah.

I saw Broken Social Scene and Dinosaur Jr recently.

Sigur Ros in a week. Maybe the Mountain Goats too.

I was going to possibly see Camper van Beethoven at the Trocadero in May, but those shows got cancelled. I might drive to Kansas to see them in June.

The original lineup are back and touring songs from the first 3 albums. Lou Barlow was kicked from the band in the early 90s, J Mascis dissolved the band in the late 90s. I hear they are going to record again with this lineup.

Hmm..The Mountain Goats? Did Atom And His Package cover one of their songs?

I'm gonna see the 14 Year Old Girls this Sunday and hopefully Kimya Dawson when she plays later in April.

Why are you being sympathetic? It's not your fault BTO is going to that awful show.

The next show I am going to is probably The Dresden Dolls. If you were among the first 500 people who pre-ordered their new cd, you get a ticket to their show at the Orpheum. It is kinda pissing me off that I won't know if I have a ticket until the cd comes in the mail, which I fear may arrive after the show.

It is a fate far worse than a family member dying.

Mang, I thought you didn't care for the Dresden Dolls?
I saw them when they came to LA. They put on a truly awesome show and did a few surprising covers, like War Pigs.
And on a sidenote, whenever Stacy talks about you I always ask "Who's Sean?" Then it takes me a second to go "Oh, you mean Mang the Goat."

Dresden Dolls were in Chicago last night. There was talk of going, but I didn't. I caught an Austin City Limits episode on PBS of the Flaming Lips and they played War Pigs with special guest Cat Power, of all people.

I always wanted to see Cat Power live. Not a massive fan, but she's supposed to be so weird, and the shows so bizarre, and often terrible, that I am fascinated to experience it myself.

I like the Dresden Dolls a lot. They had a bunch of the songs from the new album posted online for the fans because they were asking for "song specific fan art" for their cd. This new album is going to be awesome. I saw them on Halloween in Boston last year. They put on a great show.

I think it's pretty funny when people call me "Mang". Depending on when someone met me in the past 10 years, I will get "Mang", "Hank" or the occasional "Zilla". I'll answer to any of those or Sean.

Did Stacy tell you I am visiting her in LA the last weekend of May? We (all three of us) should catch up even if it is only for some lunch or something.
