I have been a fan from day one. And I still like punk , have long hair, died purple and shaved into a Mohawk. I am also a fairly successful Computer Programmer, let us just say I do fairly well for myself. DM was always fun, still tops along with Misfits and The Cure in my book.

Moral of the story is this, just because you are nuts and love having fun, does not mean you have to be a drug addict, or an inmate. Dead Milkmen littered my folders and books even in college, but that did not keep me from having fun, getting a 4.0 or living life.

Whatever you do, do it well, and DM did it well.

It was 85 when I first listened to you guys. I remember skating the halfpipe and listening to you guys for hours. I was 13 or so then and bought my first DM album shortly thereafter. You guys were the best and it pains me to hear of Dave's Tragedy.
Just remember, you still have a mass following and people who respect the music you played.

I don't know who from the band might be reading this, but I have to thank you. I have been listening to your music consistently since about '93 or 4 when someone let me borrow metaphysical graffiti. I was just starting to recover from years of alcoholism at that time and your music was extremely uplifting. I drove from Morro Bay CA to Utah about six times round trip and listened to nothing but your tapes (I had all of them available at this time, wont bore you by listing them all). I always had a smile on my face and it is impossible to feel unhappy while listening to you. I love the meaning of life video from the phili in love dvd and of course punk rock girl. I also love the song six days and many others. I bought two of your t shirts and can't wait to get my not richard but dick shirt. I love the song not crazy from that album. anyway, any time anyone asks me what my favorite group is I say the dead milkmen and am constantly telling people to check you guys out. Your music has meant a lot to me in my life and I am so happy that you guys made the music you did. You are my favorite people in the world. I was very sad to hear about dave. And I was sad when I bought stoney's extra stout in college and the word was that that was going to be your last album. Thank you for making this website. I have been watching the vids and listening to the links - including joe talcom's site - for the past few hours. I never saw you live, but just missed you when you came to san luis obispo to a record shop in the 90's by 1 day. I was sick over it. I LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU

i have been a fan since the first album big lizard, the commotion over bitchin camaro was the big one on the scene but if you looked deeper the lyrical content, charles nelson riley, deans dream argue n fight n one pulls a knife he hits me in the head but im alright!!!!wow!!!!i was like 19 at the time and this band had real personality.the break in the action from all of the hardcore bands, fear, circle jerks, descendents, black flag,d.i.,social distortion and then heres this band out of philly singing about nitro burnin funny cars.i have listened to this band from day 1 and truly loved the lps, cds, tapes and the live shows, whether in hallendale beach florida or providence rhode island the show was always fun, everyone loved the monkey, junky and the honkey even the rough neck skinheads wich is were i fit in,got right into it without feelin like a jerk off.ill never forget there version of astro zombies live.upon the soul rotation years when people were getting negative on the band saying..."too serious"..i just have one thing to say to that ..wonderfully colored plastic wartoys...they got better,i mean can you imagine shaft in greenland???thats too cool for even shaft himself.and with every tour there was a target whether it was debbie gibson, new kids, someone was getting a verbal spankin at there expense.
i just got the dvd of philidelphia with love and it gave me the chills of how these guys made me feel good.i will treasure it and hope we get more footage live or interview, behind the music who cares just more !!!!!dave blood will be missed.i dont know if they will ever go on without him but i would be first in line if they did.
i can honestly say i love this band and for those who understand them they have made at least my life just a little better.
